Understanding your personality and picking the correct career path for you, really go hand in hand to help you be successful. For this discussion board, you need to go to the main page of SJC, click on the Current Students tab, click on the Career and Employment tab, and scroll down to the FOCUS 2 tab. If you have not already done so, you will need to create a log-in (it is free to students and the link is on this page). Take the FOCUS 2 assessment, read your results, and comment on what you feel was accurate or not accurate about the results that you discovered about yourself. Do you think this is a beneficial tool?

Go to the EEOC’s website. (www.eeoc.gov)
Find a recent case that has been completed by the EEOC against an employer for some illegal human resource management action (i.e., sexual discriminiation, race discrimination, unequal pay, worker’s compensation, etc). Choose a different case than has already been discussed by a fellow student.
In the space provided for your discussion, write a short summary of the facts of that case – i.e.,
a. Who the parties were (note the EEOC will always be a party)
b. The facts of the case.
c. Why the EEOC ruled against them.
d. How much the offending party had to pay.
e. Do you think that this was a fair ruling, and why or why not?
